Poor man on the road - Ethiopia |

I saw this man standing in a field in the countryside, not far from Addis. He had a spear with him, as he told me that baboons are sometimes agressive with the farmers!
Many foreigner companies (turkish, holland, chinese..) come to open flowers plantations in Ethiopia, as the land costs nothing, and the average salary is only 1 euro a day...So even if the countryside looks more modern in many places, the people who works still earn few money and are still very poor...
I used a ringfash on the right side. In fact a half ring flash as it was broken...Canon power!

Cash machines in Pyongyang, North Korea |

Eric Lafforgue posted a video:

Casinos were already available in Pyongyang’s luxury hotels, but were reserved to foreigners (mostly Chinese) and rich North
Koreans. But since recently, Fruit machines are freely available in Pyongyang on the first floor of the Bowling alley. But for now, the
‘one-armed bandit’ addicts only play “for fun”, only winning free games.

A slice of real life i saw in the Pyongyang airport: a family who came with the Beijing flight arrived, and could not wait to meet her north korean family. Few minutes after, they crossed the police and were together.
Many families from the south and the north have been separated, but in this case, i think it was a family living in Japan.North Korea DPRK 북한

Traffic girl in Pyongyang streets - North Korea |

Eric Lafforgue posted a video:

As you can see on this video, times are changing in North Korea, as more and more cars are driving in the capitale...There are trafic lights at some crossroads, but they are not in use. Perhaps because before few months, there was not much traffic. The girls, rather all cute and pretty, are called "the faces of Pyongyang".
On sunday, cars are not allowed. Only the official ones, and the army ones. So in fact, it does not change a lot the traffic!
On sunday, the traffic girls are not in the middle of the street, but they stay on the pavement. Still do not understand why..

North Korean soldiers in Pyongyang fun fair - North Korea |

Eric Lafforgue posted a video:

April 25 is marked in North Korea as the official 65th anniversary of the people's army, which traces its birth to the fight against Japanese occupation, before the two Koreas were divided after Japan's defeat in World War II. During this day, many people like to go in the fun fairs of Pyongyang. You can see some soldiers shooting on targets made of US Gi's. The slogan means let's kill the us imperialists".
